In honor of BKS Iyengar's birthdate (Dec. 14, 1918), we'll celebrate with a special 2-hour workshop. Join Kerry to explore preparation and practice of heart opening backbends. Physically, backbending poses create mobility in the upper back , shoulders and freedom in the chest. Psychologically, they build confidence, vitality and UPLIFT the spirit. They also can teach us fearlessness and how to move into the unknown.
Optional: The 2 hour Asana class will be followed by a community celebration including yogic sweets and viewing of some historic footage of BKS Iyengar practice.
Pre-requisites: Minimum 6 months experience in Iyengar yoga or permission from the instructor.
