This workshop is a pre-requisite for Part 2 of Yoga for the Pelvic Floor, which follows this class on the schedule and includes yoga practice of standing and seated poses to balance the pelvic floor.
The pelvic floor muscles provide essential support for the reproductive and excretory systems and connect the legs to the spine. These muscles can become either overly lax or excessively tight due to factors such as childbirth, menopause, and personal health history.
Imbalances in the pelvic floor may contribute to back, hip, or sacroiliac discomfort, painful intercourse, incontinence, and digestive issues. As a center of intimacy and emotional storage, the pelvis plays a vital role in overall well-being. A balanced pelvic floor supports hormonal health, enhances organ function, and improves posture.
