Working with Obstacles & Cultivating a Positive Mind
In the first chapter of the Yoga Sutras, the sage Patanjali lists obstacles that keep us from a peaceful, quiet state of mind. These are physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual difficulties that impede a yogis practice. Thankfully, Patanjali then offers a list of remedies to support the practitioner to move through difficulties, and reorient oneself towards developing an equanimous mind-state.
Sadhana is a Sanskrit word that can be translated as dedicated practice. During this Sadhana study, we will use a variety of monthly assignments including reading, home practice, journaling/reflection and group discussion to delve into these remedies. Through this we explore the capacity that yoga has to cultivate a positive state.
Monthly online gatherings includes pranayama followed by discussion.
